Custom Magnetics of California Inc. (CMI) was founded in 2013 by its owners, Harbhajan Mand and Chris Cimino.

Since its founding, CMI has focused on designing and building specialty power transformers for use in critical applications. Establishing relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEC's) and providing the highest quality transformers available has been the linchpin of CMI's business model. This led to CMI being a respected and highly sought-after supplier for data center power systems and for the US Navy.

CMI has a quality system certified to ISO2001:2015 and CSA files up to 2500 kVA and 13.8 kV.
